Names of Allah
Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful)
Reflection:
Ar-Rahman (ٱلرَّحْمَـٰن) embodies the boundless, all-encompassing mercy of Allah — mercy that extends to all creation, believer and disbeliever alike. It is derived from the same root as rahmah (mercy, tenderness, compassion), but its form signifies absolute completeness and universality. To believe in Ar-Rahman is to recognize that existence itself unfolds through mercy — that every breath, opportunity, and moment of life is sustained by divine compassion. The implications of this Name are vast: how does one who is nurtured by the Most Merciful reflect mercy in thought, speech, and action?
