Repentance (Tawbah)
General Definition:
Tawbah (التوبة) means to return — spiritually turning back to Allah after sin, with remorse, resolve, and reform. Classical scholars define it as abandoning sin, regretting disobedience, and committing never to return to it. Sincere repentance (tawbah nasuhah) wipes away sin and renews one’s covenant with Allah.

- Classical scholars view tawbah as both an obligation and a mercy — the door to forgiveness remains open until one’s final breath.
